Another Casualty Written by Michael McPherson |
His eyes aren't as bright and his hair has grayed.
But after all these years the memories won't fade.
In his closet hangs his Army greens,
A pair of old boots and a life of bad dreams.
He's just another casualty
But his name isn't on The Wall.
He's got a purple heart and a bayonet scar
And that's all, and that's all.
He can't keep a job now and he can't keep a woman.
He can't keep the faces of the dead men from coming.
After whiskey, weed and white lines,
He's given up now, yeah he's given up trying.
He's just another casualty
But his name isn't on The Wall.
He's got a purple heart and a bayonet scar
And that's all, and that's all.
How many times he's wondered,
If he hadn't answered the call.
Would his life be any different?
Or would it be the same after all, after all?
He's just another casualty
But his name isn't on The Wall.
He's got a purple heart and a bayonet scar
And that's all, and that's all.
